I’ve always been into fitness – I was a competitive swimmer and waterpolo player all throughout high school, and played on the club waterpolo team in college, so it’s safe to say that I’ve always been in relatively good shape.
Unfortunately, since graduating college I’ve found that it’s been harder to commit to a fitness plan, especially living in the city that never sleeps. But, luckily thanks to my new fitness obsession, Class Pass, and this amazing weather that we’ve been having, I’ve found myself really excited about getting back into a routine! On top of all that, there’s nothing more motivating than wearing a cute and comfortable outfit to get workin’ on your fitness.
I came across the brand Free Label recently and have become obsessed with their basic tops. Not only are they extremely soft, but the fit and cut are amazing! I personally hate wearing tight tops when working out since I like to let my body breathe, so these tops have quickly become my go-to option when heading out for my morning or afternoon workout classes. They’re also perfect for non-workout activities as well!
To get you all in the mood for a good workout this weekend, I’ve included a few exercises that I like to complete at a nearby park, where the views are beautiful and the breeze from the water is extremely refreshing.
- Stretch! I NEVER used to stretch when I was swimming in high school and highly regret it now because I’m the most inflexible person you’ll ever meet. It’s also extremely important so that you’re able to warm up your muscles for the workout ahead.
- Run. I don’t like to put a time or distance limit on it, so I just run until I feel accomplished, which is usually around a mile or 2 🙂 Of course, no run is complete without some great tunes. Currently at #1on my playlist is “Work” by Rihanna
- I like to do a mix of exercises, which is anything from dips on a bench, push ups, squat twists, etc. You can see examples above from this workout, but the most important thing is to push yourself. I know that if it’s not hurting a little bit, I’m not working hard enough
What are some of your favorite fitness classes or exercises?
