Finally, the weekend is here again and I’m excited to share that I’ve teamed up with Cambria hotels & suites on a fun blogger shuffle program. I’ve traded spots with a local D.C. blogger who put together a list of recommended restaurants, bars, museums and more, for me to check out while I’m in the area. In return, she’ll be visiting my local stomping grounds of NYC, visiting all of my favorite weekend hangouts.
Throughout my trip, my home base will be the Cambria hotel & suites Washington D.C., located only a few minutes from Downtown. Though I’ve been in and out of the D.C. area quite a few times, due to my family living so close, this will be the first time that I’ll actually have a chance to explore the city and live like a local for the weekend.
Since this will be a jam packed weekend, full of good food, tasty drinks and a little too much shopping (as always), I’m focusing on packing easy to wear layers and comfortable shoes that I can wear for a full day of walking. I also plan on channeling my inner Olivia Pope (clearly, my Scandal obsession is a problem) and incorporating professional, yet comfortable, styles into my wardrobe for the weekend.
Another essential packing item on my list – cozy pajamas! There’s nothing quite like escaping for the weekend and snuggling up in a lavish hotel bed with a glass of wine and a classic movie. Although I plan on being out and about for most of the weekend, I’m definitely making it a point to find time to relax and rejuvenate (hello hotel indoor pool!) before the Thanksgiving holiday.
