I have to admit, from the beginning I was a little apprehensive about OTS sweaters. I mean, it’s winter time, I need something that’s going to keep me cozy and warm right? And with NYC winters the way they are, I was worried that the OTS style wouldn’t be practical, or appropriate, for the season.

Of course, with any new trend, I had to try it for myself to be sure. Luckily, I found this cute and cozy option from MakeMeChic, which turned out to be great dressed down with a pair of jeans or dressed up with a cute mini skirt.

Although summer OTS tops are easy to tackle, OTS sweaters are a whole different story. To make things easier for you, I’ve rounded up the best under $100 OTS sweaters that are great for the office, a night out or a casual brunch with friends.

For the Office:

For the office, it’s super important to choose the most conservative silhouettes. Since the off the shoulder styles can get a bit tricky if they’re looser fitting, I think you’re best bet is to choose something on the tighter side, so as to ensure that it will stay up throughout the day. For work, I like to keep things simple, or add a little bit of fringe with an easy pair of leather leggings. Here are my favorite styles for the office:

For A Night Out:

Now, a night out is when you can really play around with the styles/silhouettes of your OTS sweaters and opt for those looser fitting styles and thinner fabrics. This is when I also like to play with the colors and any detailing.

For A Casual Occassion:

For this type of occasion, I love to go the cozy route! I am all about comfort when it comes to my days off, especially when I’m just relaxing and hanging out with friends. This is when I opt for comfortable fabrics and oversized silhouettes. Here are a few great under $50 options that I plan on adding to my wardrobe this season:
