If you can’t already tell by these pictures, I’m on a real pink kick lately. I used to shy away from anything pink because truthfully, it’s a hard color to wear, especially if you’re not someone who typically wears a lot of color in the cooler months.
If I’m being honest, I bought these shoes last fall and sadly they’ve been sitting in my closet ever since. Once the weather started to cool down this year, I dug all of my boots out of the back of my closet and luckily, rediscovered them. The one difference is, this time around I promised myself that I wouldn’t let the pretty pink shoes sit on the shelf all season, despite my doubts about styling them.
Since I like to think that I’m not the only one who has trouble incorporating color into their wardrobe, I’m breaking down the easiest ways to add a bit of color to your looks this season.
-
- First and foremost, stick to the accessories. This is probably the easiest way to add a touch of color into your outfit and spice up your look. Whether it’s a bright bag, a pair of statement earrings, a printed scarf or a unique colored pair of shoes, this is a great way to ease a bit of color into your wardrobe. Like I did with this look, you can easily keep your clothes neutral but add a fun touch of color with your accessories. Check out a few of my favorite statement items below.
- Another tip for someone who is hesitant about color in the winter is to keep it to one item. Whether it’s a bright pink sweater, a royal blue pair of pants or a printed statement dress, if you’re unsure about it, keep it on the simpler side. I personally love bright sweaters in the winter time and plan on wearing a bright statement skirt for the various holiday parties that I will be attending. I’ve included a few of my favorite colored styles below.
Although it can be daunting at times, color can be super fun. Take it from the girl who used to have a closet of solely neutral tones, once you start incorporating a little bit of color into your wardrobe, it gets easier to style them. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll be rocking a full-on colored outfit, but, until then use these easy steps to ease yourself into it.
